League Expression
of Interest

The NYFDL is now affiliated to the football governing bodies in the Federal Capital Territory (Abuja), Bayelsa State, Edo State, Lagos State, Rivers State, Plateau State, Kano State, Oyo State, and Osun State. The inaugural season will be rolled out in these states in October 2025.

Proven Roots

Though newly branded as NYFDL, the league is built on a tested foundation. In 2019, the team behind NYFDL launched the Fustar Youth League in Abuja, a pilot competition that demonstrated the impact of structured youth football within schools.

Introduction

The Nigerian Youth Football Development League (NYFDL) provides a platform for structured competition every season from October to May. The NYFDL is committed to nurturing young talent and promoting Nigerian football on the global stage, providing the platform for young talented players to gain exposure to national and international opportunities. The implementation of the league is designed to support members to develop a sustainable framework and the platform to produce elite players for our national leagues and representative teams.
